I tested this and it works 100%. They sure don't make stuff like this anymore. Even though it is not large, quality is certainly not lacking. It sports REAL bright metal trim work and a very solid molded plastic cabinet. The tuner dial behind the glass is metal and not a metal colored painted plastic panel. The vernier scale tuning is a joy to use as are the unique rotary tuning and volume/on-off controls. Not fancy but certainly enough to be as functional as you will need. It even has a built in transformer-power supply which is normally lacking on smaller devices. It will accept either DC input, AC cord input, or 4-AA batteries. The battery compartment is clean and I just replaced the foam padding. The antenna, as you can see extends and retracts true, and has a screw on antenna tip, unlike the crimped on varieties of modern antenna shafts. It comes with the original carry case and a power cord. Audio quality is loud and clear, and outperforms many radios of larger size. This will be the perfect companion to carry around with you during travel, to ball games, to picnics and strolls in the parks.... whatever and wherever a compact portable radio solution is desired. Remember, it's 38 years old so you can consider it an antique and it will have the normal wear marks commensurate with an item of this age. It could also use some cleaning, but I will leave that to the new owner. However, as you can see from the many pictures I snapped, it certainly is still in very presentable condition.GUARANTEE:
