Here we have a rare 1937 Fada model 265T table radio. This stunning set features a gorgeous Art Deco designed walnut cabinet, bright green magic tuning eye, bright and colorful dial, and nice performance on the AM broadcast and shortwave bands.
Cabinet: The Art Deco designed cabinet is simply gorgeous. An attractive waterfall top and uniquely slanted sides really grab your attention. The beautiful dark walnut finish and black grill bars contrast the bright green tuning eye magnificently. Quite a sight to behold coupled with the bright and colorful dial! A large Art Deco grill, and black trim, finish this set off with the utmost style and elegance. You’ll be the envy of all with this beauty proudly displayed in any room of your home or office.The Cabinet’s Finish: All of our radio cabinets undergo a vigorous restoration process using a minimum 12 coats of Mohawk brand lacquers and toners. We use a nitrocellulose piano lacquer which is applied through a professional HVLP turbine spray system in a climate controlled room. A 1000, 2000, & 4000 grit wet sanding follows every third coat. The cabinet is finished off with a three step polishing process ending with an Oz glaze rub. Many hours of work are put into these radios, but as you can see, the final outcome is a beautiful cabinet with gorgeous luster & shine. Our radios are a great piece of history that come to you ready to proudly display, as well as listen to, in any room of the house or office.Dial/Knobs: The bright black dial is illuminated by two back lit dial lamps. It glows a stunning green and orange and is a spectacular sight coupled with the bright green tuning eye. All numbers and letters are legible and show very little signs of wear. The bright green tuning eye ‘closes’ (turns more green) as you tune the station to its strongest reception point for pin point tuning accuracy. All four bullet style knobs are in great shape and work as follows; on/off -volume, tone, tuning, and band switch. The volume control does not provide a 0 (no volume) level. It’s lowest point starts at a nice listening level. The tone control provides a subtle change in treble and bass on strong reception stations.
Electronics/Chassis: The 6 tube (including eye tube) chassis has been electronically restored and plays well. All caps, filters, and resistors have been checked and replaced as needed. All tubes have been tested and brittle wires replaced. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed and re-aligned for optimal performance. I‘m able to pick up many stations, near and far, on the AM broadcast and shortwave bands. I will include a 30 day warranty on the tubes, caps and filters.
