Offered for auction Atwater Kent Model 55 C seven tube radio chassis restored to perfect operating condition. This chassis has been professionally bench tested and all capacitors and resistors are automatically replaced. All other components are carefully tested and any substandard and defective components and tubes have been identified and replaced restoring it to original factory operating specifications. All replacement parts are factory new and typically much better quality than original. Tubes may be used or nos but test good. All modern parts are installed under the chassis out of view and any no longer utilized original above chassis parts are disconnected electrically and left physically in place to preserve original looking display.
The chassis has excellent sensitivity and delivers loud clear audio with no hum or distortion.The tuning system operates smooth and freely like new with no slippage. The volume control operates smoothly and is not noisy. The dial scale is clean, and fully readable. The faceplate is in excellent condition. The chassis is very clean virtually free of rust and dirt. This one is as near to perfect as you are likely to find. A complete set of good tubes is included with the radio. The tubes alone will usually bring over $100 on ebay. Knobs are original. The power cord is new. The correct listed speaker for this and all 55 and 60 chassis is Atwater Kent type F4 or F4A. This chassis will fit in any cabinet that previously housed any Atwater Kent 55 or 60 series chassis. All 55C and 60 chassis' are the same physical size and have identical dials and faceplates and are totally compatable.
This radio will be shipped ready to install in your cabinet with no repairs needed. It is offered for sale as is but it will not arrive DOA guaranteed to work perfectly on arrival and guaranteed to continue to work trouble free for 90 days after auction end. In the unlikely event that any problems develop during the warranty period all parts and labor needed for repair will be provided free of charge.
