Antique Guldransen tube radio/amplifier. This unit does have an early Phono input so it may be suitable to use as a Mono amplifier with some light modifications. The tube lineup is: 5x 26, 2x 45, 1x 24 and 1x 80. Includes some original parts such as the face plate. Overall good shape with no rust or obvious problems. Comes untubed and untested.

VINTAGE / ANTIQUE BRANDES CATHEDRAL TUBE RADIO SPEAKER
Nice example of a BRANDES cathedral tube radio speaker. Seems to be original cloth grill cover in perfect shape. Cabinet has some surface scratches but will polish up near perfect. I will let you do that. Speaker cloth cord in excellent condition, same as the innards and speaker horn. Look at the pictures. No holes or rips in horn. THIS IS THE EXAMPLE YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!! COMPLETE!
THE UNIT WAS OWNED AND CARED FOR BY AN EXPERT IN TUBE RADIOS.
This comes from my Great Uncles collection of fine examples of antique tube radios, speakers, Ham radio gear etc., and was treated with care along with everything else he owned. Most items are of EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION, and were in working order. There WILL be dust.

Warms up, turns on, sounds great, tuning knob doesn't move station line very far, moves from 55 - 60 needs some adjustments,
Selling used and as is condition.

This is the Delco R-1231A Radio, a highly collectable and small tabletop 5-tube radio from 1948.It features the ‘Ribbon Candy’ vertical grill highlight, and looks great with the gold speaker grill behind it.The dark brown case is in nice condition, with just a few very small hard-to-see small shallow surface scratches on the top of the case, which you have to look for under bright light, and some color variation (fading?) on the top which might have to do more with the age of the radio than any defect. The cabinet has no cracks or defects other than these minor blemishes, and as you can see in the photos it displays beautifully with its clear lens over the internally lit gold dial. I think you will be very happy with it! I’ve been having second thoughts about selling it after reassembly, so you might want to buy it now!Electronically the radio works and plays well, as I have just recapped it, replacing all electrolytic and paper capacitors, the power cord, and installing an under chassis fuse for safety. Tubes were also checked, the volume control cleaned, and the radio plays well after a minor alignment. I just rescued this radio from an estate sale. I plugged it in and it worked great. I was able to pick up two AM stations in my area. Some minor distortion on the speaker, but I think I may have not been totally tuned in. It sounded good to me!!
This one was out in the garage, so its going to need a thorough cleaning. I think the case will come clean no problem, but you can see in the picutres, the cord is pretty grimey. Maybe some soap and water or an alcohol pad will clean it up. A couple marks topside, and I took a picutre of each.
I will ship it at actual cost worldwide. It weighs almost 7 pounds unpacked and the box will be 9 and change with all the packing material to keep it safe. Just wanted you to be aware of why shipping costs what it does. I dont charge for any material or handling, just the weight of the package.
Radio is approx. 10.5x6.2x5.4 inches. I couldn't find another one on Ebay, so when I did an internet search, I saw some magazine ads for this model in both 1947 and 1948 magazines.
I ask that you pay within 3 days of end of sale. Ebay automatically files a non-pay claim at the end of four days. I don't do it to be a jerk, I do it as a reminder for you to pay. Thanks for understanding! If you have something come up, just let me know!

We pride ourselves on FAST shipping, most items are shipped within 48 hours of the auction's end. If you have any special requests, just let us know. The boxed shipping weight of this item is approximately 0 pounds. We ship most of our packages via USPS, however, we may substitute Fedex Ground shipping based on location, weight, and package size. If you can not receive a Fedex shipment at your location, please let us know once you win the auction.
