ANTIQUE 1946 MOTOROLA INTERNATIONAL SHORT WAVE AM RADIO
WELCOME
The item up for sale is a 1946 Motorola International Short Wave and AM Radio. This powers up and has loud volumne. However the belt to move the dial is off and I wasn't able to pull in any stations. The tubes are on and the face dial lights up. I am offering this as is for repair or restoration. It's a beautiful old radio!

I do not smoke, however the previous owner(s) might have. If you buy or collect vintage you must know that the items come from an era when the vast majority of Americans did smoke.
Most of my customers want items in their authentic condition which shows wear and proves age so I leave any cleaning other than dusting or superficial cleaning to the buyer's discretion. My items are sold in "as is" condition. I try to highlight any flaws over and above normal wear and tear but again, you must look at the pictures and please feel free to ask questions.
Returns and Refunds: As a matter of my store policy, I do not do partial refunds. I do however issue full refunds under certain conditions as follows:
1. Full Refunds in cases of damage or loss from shipping after carrier has approved the claim.
2. Full Refunds if I have grossly misrepresented item and you have returned the item to me at your cost in the same condition that I shipped it. You must notify me of your request to return the item within 3 days of receiving the item and mail the item back to me within 7 days. I will not issue a refund until I receive the item back.
3. The buyer and I have agreed upon a refund.
All return item shipping will be paid by the buyer per policy. This leaves both the buyer AND the seller out their shipping costs. You pay to return it and I have to pay out of pocket to ship it. We can avoid this in most cases with good communication and by asking your questions before buying!!!
Payment & Shipping: Payment is by Paypal and is expected within 4 days. I provide insurance on all shipping which is a few dollars extra and is included in the listed shipping cost. I package very carefully with bubble wrap and peanuts and ship quickly, usually in the first 24 hours. There appears to be two tubes missing on the extreme right hand side as viewed from the rear.(See rear photo)

It is a nice solid wood case with few scratches and just wear marks around the knobs. When plugged in the radio hums but it does not pick up a station. The dial works fine and the dial marker moves from one side of the radio to the other. The on/off knob works OK.The glass plate that covers the dial marker is laminated with red numbers on the top and with a film coating on the back that highlights the numbers. The red numbers are very clear and not peeling, however, the film coating on the back of the glass is pretty much peeled off--but this doesn't seem to bother the movement of the dial marker.This radio 16" long x 8 1/2" dedep x 9 1/4" high. ANTIQUE PHILCO CATHEDRAL STYLE MODEL 20 TUBE RADIO
Up for bid is a really cool old Philco Model 20 Cathedral style radio.This would be a great restoration project for someone.There is some damage to the grille,also a small chunk missing on one corner.2 knobs missing,and some paint spatters.Please see pictures.The cord is trashed,but I plugged it in and it looks like all the tubes light up,but I did not get any sound.I did not try to hook up an antenna.Might be a small fix,but I did not want to spend too much time with the cord being messed up.It looks like it is complete minus the knobs and all the knob stems turn freely.Measures17-1/2"x16"x9-1/2" deep.And weighs a whopping 31 lbs by itself.This is a must have for any collector.Selling as-is for parts or repair,with low starting bid.No returns on this item.Please check out my other auctions.Thanks....
Antique Vintage 1946 Fada Bakelite Tube Radio
From a time when radio truly was king, this fantastic Fada measures about 6 1/2" tall X 10" wide.This is a restored and working radio ready to display and enjoy. All paper and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, all out of tolerance resistors were replaced, and all tubes were tested and replaced if found to be weak. A new line cord has also been added to replace the unsafe and crumbling original. Lastly, the set was aligned and then bench tested for a minimum of 48 hours to ensure reliability and peak performance. As a result of this entire process, the set sounds very warm, clear, and plays without hum. Each of my radio cabinets are hand polished by me, investing significant time and attention to every detail to bring you a set worth displaying in your collection or accenting your home decor. The polished cabinet is a wonderful dark chocolate colored bakelite with no cracks, breaks, or hidden repairs and has a gorgeous mirror-like reflective quality. What you are looking at is the original hand polished bakelite with all of its natural qualities and textures still retained. No oils, lacquers, or gloss topcoats were used. None of that here, or on any other of my radio restorations. The knobs are original to the set and have a simple yet unique art deco styling to them that beautifully compliments not only the overall design of the cabinet, but also the embossed Fada logo located just between them and directly below the soft curved lines of the grille bars. The knobs have also been cleaned, detailed, and polished to a beautifully natural gloss with no lacquers, coatings, cracks, or chips.The set comes with a reproduction back board which is not something that you see very often on restored radios these days. Most radios that you see from other sellers are missing the back boards entirely. The dial scale is glass, original, and displays very visually pleasing color combinations. Consisting of red numbering and lettering placed against an ivory background with vibrant gold and red accents. All numbers are bright and easy to read with no fading or flaking and are warmly illuminated when the set is on. Please view all photos. Overall beautiful condition, making it a sure conversation starter that's ready to display and enjoy in your home or office.
